Lamaze classes
Interesting little occurrence today, V and I had been for my regular gynecological appointment. This is the first time V came with me to my OB/GYN and I felt like he looked a little lonesome in a women’s center. I introduced him to my doctor and the doctor and V talked a wee bit. Later I was told by my doctor that since I have a largely vegetarian diet, it may be good for me to take some iron pills in addition to my regular pre-nates, to supplement meat. Meanwhile a nurse pricked me and did a routine blood test. Everything seemed to be in correct order so now I have been given another appointment when I begin the 20th week of my pregnancy.
Since the doctor asked me if I was curious about other things, I inquired about the Lamaze classes and he advised us to pre-register at our hospital. So off V and I went from the doctor’s office to St. Mary’s hospital to check on pre-registration. Over here the sweetest and most charming nurse, ‘Marci’ greeted us and gave us a lot of details about Lamaze classes. She said that all though our baby is due in August it is a good idea to pre-register for classes now for the month of June. She then shared her son’s photos with us. She also shared memories of her pregnancy, like it happened yesterday, although later she told us that her child was now nine years old. I guess most filial bonds are very intense and they remain imprinted in our memories forever.
