The highlight of the 24th week was the fetal heart study at Abington Memorial hospital. This was a bit more elaborate than the regular ultrasounds at St. Mary’s. Subabe spent most of the hour we spent in Abington with his back to the medical technician. There was a lot of rocking and rolling and the technician had to be very patient to get his heartbeats and other details. We were told there was nothing to worry about at this stage – nothing perceptibly wrong anyway. It was only towards the end of the hour that Subabe condescended to turn over. I guess, he felt a little bored -- we saw him yawn. It was incredibly fascinating to watch him yawn, with his little fist tucked under his chin.
