At 22 Weeks...

This weekend is special… Subabe’s MTB is an Ed.D candidate -- She successfully defended her doctoral dissertation proposal on the 13th of April. Besides the proposal, the chair and committee were also ‘presented’ with news about Subabe. They were very supportive. This twenty-two weeks photo was taken on Subabe’s DiT’s (dad in training) insistence. He is into taking snapshots of Subabe’s development at regular intervals. The ‘salwaar kameez’ that Subabe’s amma is wearing is made from Asha mami’s saree. The photo has been taken in St. Mary’s Hospital, in beautiful Bucks County. Since this is to be the birthplace, we might as well learn to get there – even those of us in mommy’s pouch.

Rockin and Rollin

It was our third trip to the hospital for the ultrasound and the longest one yet. Subabe was not in a very accommodating mood this week and kept rolling around in his pod. It took almost 15 minutes to get just a clean snapshot of his hands; and it was almost an hour before the nurse let MTB off the examination table. And she was quite ready to go. The poor thing - the nurse prodding her tummy with all that water in her… I don't envy her. Still the ultrasound technician was kind and nice, and made MTB as comfortable as she could possibly be made under the circumstances. The Perinatologist popped in towards the end of the session and said things are looking peachy and that Subabe might actually be a little ahead - now we already knew that. As part of the scheduled battery of tests we have to get a fetal heart study done soon. All in all he said that all signs are healthy... Knock on wood.

Achamma and Achoochan don't want to know what Subabe is packing, but we know now… Snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails… You get the idea!
